The Pre-Admission Testing Nurse’s primary responsibility is to facilitate safe in-office based anesthesia by gathering relevant medical information from patients and their families, addressing inquiries, and providing necessary instructions or information regarding treatments, medications, and procedures. The role involves patient family communication and education to ensure that patients are well-informed and prepared for their anesthesia services. Additionally, the Pre-Admission Testing Nurse will be involved in care coordination, documentation, team collaboration, and quality assurance to contribute to the overall success of the pre-admission testing process.

Patient Family Communication and Education:
- Communicate with patients and/or patient guardians via phone, email, or text to collect essential medical information required for safe anesthesia.
- Address any questions or concerns raised by patients or their families, providing clear and accurate information.
- Educate patients and their families about the anesthesia services offered, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of the procedures and expectations.
Care Coordination:
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients are safely cleared for general anesthesia based on their medical history and condition.
- Coordinate the necessary legal paperwork, medical records requests, insurance verification, and payments to facilitate timely and efficient care delivery.
Documentation and Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatments, medications, test results, and other relevant information.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and well-coordinated patient care.
- Participate in team meetings, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and ensure the smooth pre-admission testing process.
Quality Assurance:
- Follow established healthcare protocols, standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain the highest quality of patient care.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of pre-admission testing procedures, providing feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement.

- Valid and active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- 3-5+ years of experience in preadmission testing or case management
